Kitchen Capers is the nineteen book of the Candy Series series. It was released in September 2015.


Joni aspires to become a chef and make food that everyone will enjoy. But because of her inexperience and ignorance in cooking, her cooking is inedible! Is her ambition strong enough to keep her moving forward to achieve her dreams?

At school, Mia, Emilia, Charles and Corey pretends that Joni's cooking is yummy, but to their tastes its totally horrible. However, they do not want to tell the truth because Joni already worked so hard to achieve her dream so they don't want to discourage her.

Class Reunion

Julian 'sacrifice' his money to take Joni to cooking class with Chef Antone from Italy.

A Suspicious Stranger

On the way back home, Joni found a suspicious stranger eating her fruit jelly that she found after going back home from school, and secretly follows her.

An Impossible Dream?

Julian and Joni founds out that the stranger was named Aimone from Italy and has matters to attend to. Julian wants Aimone stay with them while teach Joni how to cook. At first he refused, then he agreed when Joni said 'Chef Antone'.

Aimone and Antone

Aimone teaches Joni how to make a vegetable omelet, and she did it. At night, Joni founds out that Aimone might be Chef Antone's brother, and Candy JEM makes a plan for them to meet.

Cooking Challenge

So Aimone and Antone actually brothers in a war, so Antone decided to challenge Aimone on cooking the calessi family seafood risotto, but Antone is allergic to shellfish... Can he win?

The Cost of Victory

Antone ate the risotto, and when announcing the winner, Antone was hospitalised because of the allergic he had! Aimone may be cold-hearted, but he is very caring about Antone. However, Joni's cooking still in 'beyond awful' part... Looks like she still needs more improvement!

  • Joni's parents went on a vacation after eating Joni's first and worst cooking.
  • Sean, Julian's friend and Irwin, Julian's childhood friend is also the character of the story but not the main.
  • Julian was seen playing a Naruto game.
  • The first chapter of the book, Brotherly Bother, has the same title as the 25th series book Brotherly Bother.
